Polar Hunter

I’ve been trying my hand at something I’ve never specifically focused on for my portfolio: a creature and its rider. I’ve had the concept of a "northern hunter" in mind for years, but without a clear vision—so, while exploring the design, I experimented with various options and sources of inspiration for both the animal and the rider. What began as a generic "knight" evolved into something more grounded and ethnically inspired. I aimed to create a design that could exist in a low-fantasy world, without the aid of magic.

For the creature itself, I drew inspiration from polar bears, incorporating elements of deer and bison. As for the gear and the hunter, I looked primarily to the indigenous cultures of the Far East, the Chukotka region, and the Inuit people.
